Drip irrigation delivers water directly to the plant root zone. It provides 40–60% water savings compared to sprinkler systems. PE pipe systems offer ideal flexibility and durability for these applications.
Key Components
- Main line: PE40 or PE100 pipe (32–110 mm)
- Lateral pipes: PE40 16mm coil pipe
- Filter: Prevents clogging (disc or screen filter)
- Pressure regulator: Keeps system pressure at 0.5–1.5 bar
- Drippers: Constant flow, 2–4 L/hour
Points to Watch
- Irrigation pressure should be kept between 1.2–1.5 bar
- Drain the system at end of season and check lateral pipes
- Filters should be cleaned at least 3 times per season
